How this is calculated#
The Department of Lands and Surveys publishes one PDF per year (or pair of years) with a page for each district land office and a Pancyprian page. We read the monthly cells from those PDFs into a database, so the monthly figures above are the published figures, unchanged. The figures count contract documents deposited, not properties sold.
Annual totals are the sum of the twelve published monthly figures for that year. The 2026 column covers January to September only, because October 2026 has not been published. District figures for a month add up to the Pancyprian figure for the same month.
Percentage changes are calculated as later period / earlier period - 1, rounded to one decimal place. The Department re-uploads the current-year file every month, so figures for the most recent months can change when the file is next published. Famagusta means the district land office of Famagusta, which covers the government-controlled part of the district.
How prices moved over the same period is on the Cyprus Residential Property Price Index page; completed transfers are on Property transfers registered in Cyprus.
Next official release: October 2026 figures, expected in the Department's re-uploaded 2025–2026 file during November 2026 (date not announced).
